Please note that EGI2024 is intended to be an in-person event. We expect all contributors (or their representatives) to attend the conference on the premises.

We invite you to submit your proposal for EGI2024. We are accepting different contribution types (short and long talks, posters, and demonstrations) in a range of topics.

Contribution types:

  • Short Talk (max. 10 mins): when accepted, your talk will be added to
    the agenda of the appropriate session
  • Long talk (max 20 mins): when
    accepted, your talk will be added to the agenda of the appropriate
    session
  • Poster: format A0, will be displayed throughout the
    conference + dedicated networking during opening reception + 1’ pitch
    presentation opportunity
  • Demonstration (max 30’): demonstrations
    showing a service, tool, or product + with dedicated networking
    during opening reception + 1’ pitch presentation opportunity

Needs and solutions in scientific computing:

Digital twins: Digital twins for the modelling of complex objects and phenomena.
Artificial Intelligence: Federated learning; Distributed AI/ML analytics; AI-powered services for science; Advancements in the “AI on Demand” platform.
Compute continuum: Hybrid compute infrastructures and the convergent use of HTC, HPC, cloud, container and edge/serverless technologies
Platforms and gateways: Integrated and scalable online environments for scientific communities.
National and scientific perspectives: New developments, challenges and opportunities in national e-infrastructures and in international scientific communities.
Federated operation: Novel tools, services and approaches for the delivery of computing services in federated environments.

Data innovations:

Data spaces: Scalable solutions for data exchange and analysis in highly distributed ecosystems.
Data management and integration: Platforms, tools, services and data lakes for high performance data access and analytics.
Processing of sensitive data: Trusted services and environments for the exchange and analysis of sensitive data.
Business models: Novel business models and sustainability approaches for data-intensive science in academia and industry.

Environmental informatics

Green computing: Lowering the environmental impact of digital services, software and data analytics applications.
Climate Change/Environment: Advancing climate change research and addressing environmental challenges with advanced computing .

Trust and security:

Trusted computing: Solutions and standards for trust and security in distributed and federated environments.
Access control: Effective but non intrusive infrastructure controls
Interoperability: Novel approaches for ensuring interoperable security across distributed service ecosystems.

EOSC Developments and Open Science

Reproducible open science: Practices and solutions for FAIR, open and reproducible data-intensive science
EOSC: European Open Science Cloud developments and perspectives, in particular contributions of the EGI community to EOSC.
